Experimental study on compressive strength of Interlocking Hollow Block System (IHBS) using fly ash

Interlocking Hollow Block System (IHBS) is a reasonable solution for conventional block masonry due to its structural ability and building capability. In addition, economic ecological of brickwork can be achieved by incorporating fly ash into IHBS. The main aim the research produce interlocking compressed hollow that satisfy standard requirement as in Eurocode 6. study essentially divided 2 phases, production compression testing. This paper studies on compressive strength clay with various compositions including laterite soil, cement, sand ash. optimum mix design minimum 7 MPa, which comply BS 5628-1:1992 Code practice Use – Part 1: Structural use unreinforced masonry. Test result addition revealed content was 2% highest 10 MPa. results this show proposed mixture meets requirements performance improved adding design.
